Feels and films

Why nobody should ever stop watching movies

People have passions and people love what people are passionate about. That’s the truth. Passions like books, sports, music, dance. Mine is cinema and I shortly tell you the story of my flame. Everything started when my TV broke and I was obliged to use only my computer to watch movies. I wasn’t so good at managing that kind of technological things because I was so little but soon I became quite better. My repertoire included basically Disney movies at the beginning like every normal little girl so you can image how many times I watched Aladdin or Anastasia during my childhood (I reached once a day in a period of my life). So as you can understand I spent my life watching only movies and not a real TV program or TV series and now a little hobby has become my biggest one. My favourite actress has gone from the principal charapter of Anastasia to Audrey Hepburn and Emma Stone and this will always change. But I think it’s pretty ordinary so I don’t worry because everything changes during years. Anyway, we don’t need to be really obsessed with cinema to love it.
I hope all of you have a “favourite film of all time”, and if you don’t really have one is because you have a list of them. Personally I consider movies a reason to live for so this post is one of those I do with my whole heart.  I think there’s a perfect film for everyone. It doesn’t have to be famous, winner of millions awards, or one of those the Earth is going to remember forever. If you love it, then everythng is okay. A single movie can make you relax, laugh, cry, love or dream. Every single movie is different for everyone and that’s the greatest thing. No one can even judge your own taste so don’t worry if after watching Titanic you are drawning while the person next to you remains unmoved. It is totally normal and I should like to point out that I am the crying girl in this case.

Anyway, I decided to pick my favourite films ever to show you the best 5. The list was too long so I had to shorten it so much but the ones I chose are really good. Now relax, laugh, cry, love and dream with me!

To relax

Do you want to relax? All you need is a cup of vanilla tea and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Nothing else. This is the recipe of happiness so, as you can see, you don’t need a lot of things to become the happiest girl in the world. If you have had a bad day, or, better, as Holly Golightly could say, if you’ve got the mean reds, don’t worry because Audrey Hepburn knows exactly how to relax you. A cinema and fashion icon like this will make your day better and you’ll have the chance to relax during the whole film. No thoughts, no fear, just you and Audrey.

“People love what other people are passionate about.”

– Emma Stone

“I don’t have to know my future. I’m going to live it anyway.”

– Chris Evans

To laugh

If you want to laugh from the beginning to the end of a film you must watch this. The Internship is a movie which will make you smile from the first minute and whose lines are so funny. Honestly I watched it about 10 times so far and it still makes me laugh like no one else. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are the perfect and funniest couple ever so don’t think two times if you feel like watching it. The whole movie is set in my favourite american city, San Francisco, and in particular in the Google headquarters, a new and not so usual location where to shoot a movie.

Anyway I want you to know I’ve watched a million films in my life but this one is still in my top-5 list. So ran and turn on your laptop.

To cry

Honestly it hasn’t been hard to find the film that makes me (and everybody) cry every time I watch it. If you are having a great night with your friends and you feel like watching something really sweet and cry all night long, Hachiko is the film you’re looking for. This movie literally transformed my love for dogs. It represents the perfect relationship we all have to have with animals and teaches us to respect them. The film is all about this topic and show us how just a dog can change an entire life to better. But seriously, this is the saddest and at the same time the most beautiful film I’ve ever watched in my life.

To love

You know, when you are tired but you don’t want to waste the full night so you end up spending two hours deciding which movie to watch? I don’t know you, but it always happens in my case. Therefore in this kind of situation just turn on your laptop and start playing “Before we go” , a great film whose style and editing are awsome. In fact you need to know this film is much deeper and really different from the other ones. The story is new, fresh and is told in a totally new way. The actors are great and the fact I love the most about this film is that there is hardly ever music in the background. This permits you to focus on the charapter and identify with the story.

Before we go is entirely set in NYC during a single night and it isn’t the classic film where as soon as you start watching it you already know how the ending is gonna be.

To dream

“Cheers to the fools who dream, crazy as they may seem”

I hope all of you have already heard this line. But if you have never seen it before, you should watch La La Land. I have to admit I have a little obsession with this film from the day I saw it for the first time. This is not just a movie, this is THE movie, basically a masterpiece of the cinema indistry of last years. The music, the choreography, the scenery are stunning. The story inspires everyone in one way or another, and can touch up to the bottom of the heart. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are magic together and help each other to make their dreams come true for the whole duration of the movie. La La Land is not for the classic kind of romantic people, but it’s dedicated to everyone of us who dream. In fact it isn’t a love story but a film which you’re gonna remember forever, which encourages the world to be hopeful and positive about its future and which reminds we can always make our dreams come true.

Tip: watch La La Land on big screen and more than just once. Every time you watch it you’ll find new meanings and details of the movie which are foundamental.

Shop the look

I hope to write other new posts about cinema in the future so stay tuned. Let me know which are your favourite film ever so I can watch it!
