I SPENT THE BEST DAY IN STOCKHOLM AND HERE’S WHAT I DID

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend the best Thursday of my life with the best people in one of the best cities on the planet: Stockholm. It’s been a while since I last published something about the city (the latest post about it is Tour guide for a girly holiday in Stockholm) so I thought it would be a good idea to bring back an article about the wonderful capital of Sweden.

If I think back to what I did I’m aware that it doesn’t sound exciting. Apparently, I just spent one day in Stockholm walking around the city on an ordinary Thursday morning, which is nothing new or surprising. However, that day was fully immersed in Art, which made me enjoy and appreciate the hidden corners of Stockholm I had never seen before. I’m grateful I had the chance of observing the little things that I usually would never pay attention to in a normal day. I learnt to appreciate and enjoy the beauty and charm of the city, sitting on a random bench in the park and just observing the leaves falling. The best moment of the day was indeed when I got to sketch things and people all around the city like dads with children, school trips, people training, doing yoga, reading. Before that Thursday I didn’t know that a simple park in the centre of the city could be such a good font of inspiration. A day full of all the things I love the most (which I believe to be what is worth to live for), like relaxing in the park, drinking a power shake at Joe and the Juice, dancing and singing on the street, shopping at & Other Stories and eating at Eataly. These simple things are what make me want to enjoy life.

First stop

LINN FERNSTRÖM

One time Albert Einstein said “Creativity is contagious, pass it on”, which is exactly what Stockholm does, by spreading Art in every corner and hallway, inspiring every person who passes by its timeless Art galleries. If you have the chance to spend a few days in Stockholm, make sure to stop by Linn Fernström’s exposition in the gallery in Karlavägen 9, 114 24 Stockholm, whose location, vibes and paintings will just make your day better. I’ve never been a fan of Art galleries, but I have to say that the ones that I went to that Thursday were sensational.

Second stop

Humlegården

For a quick stop just right in the centre of Stockholm.

What’s better than spending an hour in a park in the center of Stockholm on a sunny morning? Honestly, after experiencing it, I can say nothing. If you have free time during the week, just stop in a park and enjoy the day. There’s nothing more relaxing than sitting on a bench surrounded by colorful trees and laying on a carpet of leaves, especially if it’s been a stressful week.

Third stop

MODERNA MUSEET

The first time I went to the Moderna Museet I didn’t actually explore all of it since I barely got to see the hall. However, a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see an interesting exposition about Andy Warhol with the best guide I could ask for. This museum host lots of different artists’ works so if you’re looking for a full immersion in Art or just have a look at some famous paintings/photos, make sure to stop by.

That’s all I had for today, I hope you liked it. If you know any other places in Stockholm you would like to suggest to me, let me know in the comments!
